Everyday is a holiday!

Image
Scotland is quite a place! We have spent the last few days in the small ocean side town of Oban (on the west coast of the isle) soaking up some rays and much deserved R&R. In between sampling some of Scotland's local dishes and doing some pub crawling, we have had our laundry done for a quid and dived into some novels. In the morn we are catching a train into Glasgow for the day, where we will spend the day sight seeing before returning to the train station to board our overnight sleeper to London! See below for pictures of our time at Oban , an ideal place to spend a holiday! Scottish countryside, view from the train into Oban . On the train to Oban from Edinburgh... Enjoying some cheese and crackers after a nap! At the pub with our chum Robert and the owner of the bar Ollie! Oban is a magical place! Enjoying the sunshine and a couple of books oceanside . The picturesque Scottish village by the sea- tulips and all! Enjoying a traditional meal of haggis and tatties /b

Rode a breeze from Ireland to Scotland

Due to a pain in the ear, as noted earlier, we left a few days late for our honeymoon. To save much confusion with bookings and what not, we simply cancelled a few days off the top of our trip and that landed us in Dublin at about 8am Monday. Since we kept our flight into Edinburgh, that meant we had about 12 hours in Dublin before we had to return to the airport to catch our flight out. What a 12 hours it was! Here are some pics and captions from our adventures: The Newlyweds in front of Christ Church Cathedral (built 1169AD) Dublin, Ireland 4-14-09 Trinity College, home to the Book of Kells (founded by Queen Elizabeth I in 1592) 4-14-09 Mr. New York striking a pose in front of the Dublin Castle 4-14-09 So Dublin was great. Eric (aka Mr. NY hence the sweater) had the opportunity to sample a local delicacy, a chicken sandwich with lettuce, red onion and butter! We arrived at our hostel in Edinburgh a little after 10pm that night, hopped onto our bunkbeds and slept like babies! We awoke

Life is what happens while your making other plans...

Picture this: Husband and wife, driving across the country in a rented SUV, packed with everything the two of them own, apart for a few things left with Grandma. Two pullovers, one doctors visit, and 3000 miles later, they end up in Keene New Hampshire, holed up for a few days so the new wife can get over her well deserved ear infection before embarking on the trip of a lifetime. Fast forward to the present, we are now in Ireland, trucking around Dublin, meeting Irish people at every turn, throwing back a few Guinness. Well, not the beer yet, its only 11:30 AM. So far, we have seen the Irish Post Office, O'Connolly Street, Trinity College, Dublin Castle, Bank of Ireland, and are heading to Christ Church and the National Museum. Next stop, Scotland! The adventure has begun, stay tuned for pictures and videos. They are coming soon! Eric and Laura
