European Oddities

So, Laura having only been to Canada and Mexico, as far as world travel goes, has experienced a bit of culture shock since we arrived. What better way to work through this complicated chain of emotions than to make fun of it, right? Well please read on for a list of Euro-odeties that are tops...

1. French Fries are a staple in all diets. Hungry? Feel like a steak, meat loaf, some mac and cheese? Well a euro dish is not complete unless it features french fries, pomme frites, chips or just plain old frites. You can also buy a cone of fries and walk around eating it (Europe is a like a great big fair).

2. They don't use top sheets, only a fitted sheet and a comforter.

3. Every place, large and small we have been features a McDonald's- I'm loving it! (not)

4. When you go out to eat, many places give you the option of eat in or take away- they vary greatly in price, why just today we had some pizza and ate in. If we would have done take away we would have saved 6 euros (like $10).

5. So you know beverage vending machines, well Paris puts all their bottled beverages such as Coke upside down in the machine. I just can't figure this one out!

6. The Weight Watchers brand is taking over Europe! For every item on a grocery shelf like chips, sandwiches, sausage, you name it, there is a simular product featuring the WW logo. Weight Watchers has cornered the market there!

7. Locals who pretend not to speak English are the first to drop the F!*% bomb!

8. NO FREE REFILS, NO ACCEPTIONS! I think we paid $8 in soda money in one sitting for Laura, we wont repeat that one!

Well this is all for now, keep your eyes open for more Euro-oddities!
